For decades, New Ground has been known for their heartfelt harmonies and timeless gospel sound. While the group has always featured talented musicians, it had been many years since fans experienced the full energy of a live band traveling with New Ground. The last time a full band toured alongside the group was back in 2010/2011. A special one-time appearance was made for the filming of the 2017 Live from Bessemer DVD, but that moment was created solely for the recording.

Through the years, New Ground has carried piano players, but not a complete band unit. That changed in February 2025, when New Ground debuted their band once again at The Pickin’ Post in Rainsville, Alabama. The night marked a new chapter for the group, quickly becoming a talking point among fans who had long awaited the return of a full band sound.

The new lineup features Nathan Burns (Piano), Jason Brown (Bass Guitar), and Marvin Wilson (Drums). When the band travels, David Holt joins the team as sound enginer, ensuring the group delivers the highest quality live experience. Together, this motley crew of friends blend to bring a powerful, polished dimension to New Ground.
