There I Began To Live

Verse 1:
Early one Sunday I heard a knock upon my front door
It was a man from the church down the road where I had been once before
He said, “I just stopped by to see how you’ve been, how’s life been treating you, have you started to live.”
I said, “Brother I’m doing fine and thank you for stopping by, but everything is alright within.”

Verse 2:
You see I have the family, a wife and two kids,
I have my own business, I have a car to ride in,
I’d say I’m doing fine and yes I have begun to live
Oh but there was something waiting for me
Ahead in the distance that I could not see
Because I was living high on life
Oh, that is what I truly believed.

Verse 3:
Then later I went to church and sat in my pew and as the choir began to sing I didn’t make a move
I just sat there and listened as the preacher told what God had brought him through
And then the alter call was made and I sat there in fright
knowing that with Jesus I had not made things right
But then conviction hit me and I walked right down the aisle.

Chorus:
There I fell on my face, I felt His saving grace, the chains of bondage they had to break
For the shackles of sin no longer could win for there I began to live
There I began to live

Repeat Chorus:
And I fell on my face, I felt His saving grace, the chains of bondage they had to break
For the shackles of sin no longer could win for there I began to live
There I began to live
